Jr. Bull

Jr. Bull captures the unique lives of the top-ranked teens in one full season of grueling training, unwavering discipline and thrilling competition in one of the most dangerous and unpredictable sports.

Jr. Bull follows a group of young boys and girls for a complete season as they prepare for competition in the annual Youth Bull Riding World Championships held each August in Fort Worth Texas.

These hand-selected bull riders are at the top of their sport and hail from various towns across America.

As the bull riding season unfolds these kids reveal themselves as tough, determined, unwavering and competitive.  They show deep respect to the culture and traditions of their ranching and rodeo roots, though some of them live urban lives and have diverse interests.  Jr. Bull follows these kids into the ring and into their homes where they struggle with school and dating, participate in wrestling matches and surfing competitions, and sort out conflicted relationships with their parents. Through the rodeo, they learn respect for the animals they ride, the kids they compete against and for the discipline required to train and compete in one of America’s most intense sports.

Their stories are a metaphor for every teen’s daily struggles, difficult decisions and determination.

With the opportunity to earn a spot with the coveted Pros, these young athletes join hundreds of the nation’s top competitors as they cinch up for the most thrilling and decisive eight second ride of their lives. At the end of Jr. Bull, only one will be wearing the World Champion Buckle.
